How to pack away your summer clothes

As summer creeps to a close - it’s almost time to think about getting your wardrobe ready for autumn! Sort to sell - Clothes you don’t wear or that don’t fit. You will have to store to sell on second hand clothing sites as it is not a good time to sell summer things.

Clean - Clean clothes as dirt and bacteria attract creatures and soaps, deodorant and sun cream will stain if left on the material.

Dry - this is the most important as even the slightest moisture will trigger mould.

Acid free tissue paper - to prevent staining

Silica gel to - absorb and control moisture

Anti moth items such as cedar wood and lavender - You can go natural or pre-made.

Suitcases - If you have to store your case, you might as well store it full.

Packing Cubes - Easy to sort items into categories then put them in the case

Vacuum bags - Make sure to pick good quality so they last and don’t break

Depending on what you are storing or where. Rolling can be space saving but takes more time than just lying flat and is not suitable for delicate fabrics

Use sticky labels on the outside where you can see or tie tags so you dont have to pull everything out.
